Hello World! My name is Olly Lewis and I have wanted to start a blog for a long time, so here goes, inspired by the likes of Tom Sherrington, Mark Anderson, Pran Patel, Kate Jones and many others.

I have diverse experience having worked in both the state and independent sectors in the UK over the last eight years.  Both have been richly rewarding with experiences and lead me to where I am today as a professional. I am currently Head of Physics and Head of Year at The Oratory School, where I have also lead on whole staff training on using edtech effectively. I also sit on the Teaching & Learning development group which I really enjoy as we talk about all things pedagogy and how we can improve pupil outcomes.

Within the state system, I was a Science teacher at Alderman White School, teaching all three key sciences to key stage three and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, specialising in Physics at key stage five. I worked my way up to Deputy Head of Science before moving into the independent sector.

I’d just like to say thank you to the many educators out there that I follow, have connected with and am yet to connect with. Thanks to you I aspire to be a better me each day and you’ve helped lead me to where I am today.

So before I go I’d like to leave you with this final thought: be inspired by others, don’t aspire to be them.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope that we can connect in the future.
