I’ve been very quiet here recently, and for good reason!
Over the past two years (yes, it’s been about that long), I’ve put my energy into four key areas: my job as deputy head, writing the #EdTechPlaybook with friend and co-author Mark Anderson, diving into my doctoral research, and most important of all, my family.
As I am sure you can appreciate, while hugely rewarding, its all-consuming at times writing both a book and a literature review for my EdD. I’d like to publicly thank both Mark and Stef (my wife) for their support over this period, I couldn’t have done it without you both!
I’m hugely proud of our work on the #EdTechPlaybook! The EdTech Playbook is a practical, evidence-informed guide for educators, school leaders and digital leads looking to embed impactful and sustainable use of technology in their schools. It’s grounded in practice, informed by research, and written to support teachers and leaders navigating the evolving digital landscape in education no matter their current situational context. I truly believe there is something for everyone in the pages of the book! From models for learning with technology, to accessibility, to AI, tech to manage learning, leadership, working with vendors and so much more. We’ve written the #EdTechPlaybook so that it is just that, your definitive guide to teaching, learning and leading with #EdTech and #AI in education.
The launch party, which you can watch here or in the video below, was a real reminder of how powerful our PLNs can be and what a great community there is in both the education and #EdTech space.
A huge thank you to everyone who tuned into our launch party, and a mega special shout-out to our guests Al Kingsley, Emma Darcy, and Paddy McGrath! It would be remiss of me not to also mention and thank my partner in hosting and writing, Mark. As it was #StarWarsDay (May the 4th), on our launch party, we also had a cameo appearance from Darth Vader….you’ll have to watch the launch party video to see what he thinks of #EdTechPlaybook.
The feedback from the community so far has been humbling. We’ve seen some lovely reviews, such as this one, from HeadteacherChat, while others are starting to come in via Amazon like the one below. Quite simply, all we can say is thank you, and we are so happy to see that you are all finding value in our book!
